Bell Schedule Reminders

School resumes this week on Tuesday, August 12th. Below are some important times to remember.
7:40: The doors open for breakfast
7:45: Front office opens
8:10: Tardy bell rings
3:40: School dismissed
3:45: All walkers must exit the campus
3:55: All car riders must be picked up

ID Badges and Lanyards

As of Friday, all students have been issued 1 free student ID badge and 1 lanyard. Please encourage your student to put their badge in the front of the backpack every day after school. We actually make an announcement right before dismissal to also ask them to do so. In the morning, help remind them to put it on. The badges must be worn around their neck.

Beginning Monday, students will be sent to the office to call their parent if they forget their ID badge. If you know they have lost it, replacement badges are $3.00 and lanyards are $1.00, so send them with money.

Thank you again for your assistance in making sure they leave for school each day wearing their ID badge.

Code of Conduct Assembly

On Friday 8/15, students attended a virtual assemblies with the school administrators. Students learned about district policies regarding dress code, cell phones, clear backpacks, vapes, fighting, and more. We ask that you review the slide show below and discuss these items with your child.

  • Students may be dropped off in the front or back of the building each morning but must enter through the front gymnasium entrance at 7:40.
  • There are 3 lanes in front of the school for drop off and pick up. The middle lane is for passing traffic. The 2 outside lanes are for unload students.
  • Never STOP or unload in the middle lane.
  • Students should only cross the front parking lot a the crosswalk.
  • Please pull forward after dropping off your students or traffic backs down the street. If you want to wait for your student, pull into a parking spot.

Clear Bag Reminders

Just a reminder that students will only be allowed to carry clear backpacks and lunch bags. Mesh, tinted and regular backpacks will be taken up and sent home with students at the end of the day. If we can not see the contents of the bag from 5 feet away, then it is not safe. Thank you for your help in keeping our school safe.

A New Chapter in Student Success: Go Offline, You'll be Fine

In the 89th Texas Legislature Session, state lawmakers passed House Bill 1481, prohibiting students from using personal digital communication devices during the entire school day. Starting August 12th, students will be required to keep these devices stored out of reach in their backpacks or lockers for the entire school day. Students will no longer be able to keep their devices in their pockets. Please click the link to read more about the new law and consequences for violations of the law.
